Lastlings drop ‘Noise’ as third single from their upcoming album

Japanese-Australian sibling duo Lastlings have dropped ‘Noise’ as the third single off their upcoming sophomore album, ‘Perfect World’.

Set for a June 23 release via RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue Records, the album’s theme revolves around mental and emotional hurdles that come with heartache and romantic loss. In 2020, the duo released via Astralwerks for their debut album ‘First Contact’.

The 12 tracks in ‘Perfect World’ are said to be told through Amy Dowdle’s perspective, highlighting her ability to craft empathetic and relatable stories through song. Peek the album announcement below.

Newly-released single ‘Noise’ continues to build a therapeutic soundtrack in overcoming heartbreak, just like the duo’s previous two singles ‘Get What You Want’ and ‘Holding Me Like Water’. It’s an avant-garde blend of electronic, indie and pop sensibilities that exude both hope and melancholy. Brother Josh Dowdle’s euphoric synth-lead production perfectly complements Amy’s wistful vocals that tell the tale of yearning for lost love, making the track both sonically and lyrically powerful.

“Noise is about reminiscing on an old relationship. The good memories. Talking late at night. Going to raves together. Dancing. All the arguing and making up. All the...noise,” mention Amy and Josh.
