Fabled Records aims to push Chinese electronic music to the global stage
The new entity collaborates innovatively with Astralwerks and recently-launched Capitol Records China
Live Nation’s Asian electronic dance music division Live Nation Electronic Asia (LNEA) has recently launched ‘Fabled Records’ that is dedicated towards supporting up-and-coming talents from the Chinese electronic music scene. In this new venture, LNEA teams up with two divisions of Universal Music Group, namely the artist-first electronic music label Astralwerks and Capitol Records China (CRC) which was just launched in March 2022.
This newly-inked agreement between the parties means that Astralwerks and CRC will partner up in handling the global releases and distribution of Fabled Records artists and projects. As for LNEA and Fabled Records itself, they’ll benefit from being able to access UMG’s collective pool of international divisions.
Altogether, the organisations will collaborate in furthering the attention and awareness towards Chinese electronic music and talents on a global scale.

Jim Wong, Managing Director at LNEA, Dancing Dragon Management and label head of Fabled Records mentions that “Fabled Records and our whole division at LNEA are committed to bringing the best artists and music from Greater China to the global stage. There is no better way to achieve this than through our partnership with Toby, Cindy and the team at Astralwerks, as well as Tom, the team at Capitol Records China and the rest of Universal Music Group's international divisions.”
Dancing Dragon is LNEA’s management company that was formed in 2019 to keep up with the region’s rising demand for electronic dance music. Its roster includes top names in Chinese EDM such as Chace, BEAUZ, Carta and Yåko. The newly-launched label has already released Carta’s track ‘Lonely Addictions’ which is written entirely in Chinese and features Eileen Yo and Ika Zhou, alongside Chace’s first two singles from his latest album ‘Belated Suffocation’.

Chace made history in 2017 when he became the first DJ from China to perform at Tomorrowland Belgium’s main stage. “I'm happy to be on this journey with Fabled Records. Having been on the cultural exchange mission for so long, my debut album is finally coming. I'm excited for the world to hear what I have to offer, and am thrilled to have the team at Astralwerks and Capitol Records China on board," he says.
