GLOWBALL Festival announces first wave line-up for second edition in Taipei

Taipei’s GLOWBALL Festival is set to return to Taipei Music Center on May 17, following a groundbreaking debut last year.

The festival’s name, GLOWBALL, is a play on “global”, merging “glow” and “ball” to symbolise light, dance, and collective energy.

For 2025, GLOWBALL channels the kinetic energy of ‘Ping Pong’—a festival in constant motion, where sound collides, rebounds, and reshapes itself in unexpected ways.

Curated by Sonia Calico, a pivotal figure in Taiwan’s underground music scene, the inaugural edition featured Lady Shaka, Howie Lee, Nodey, and more.

The first wave of the line-up for 2025 delivers a dynamic mix of international and local talent, including dj g2g, KIRARA, and Taipei’s own Mong Tong are collaborating with chacha and Sherwin for a one-night performance, with more artists to be announced soon.

The festival will unfold across three immersive stages and includes a multitude of interdisciplinary projects, including AR and ballroom performances, including a ritualistic drag show led by Taipei Popcorn, where surrealism, body politics, and club aesthetics collide in a theatrical spectacle.

More details and full lineup announcements coming soon.
