Feelings meet four-to-the-floor in Dualist Inquiry’s ‘Get You Back’
The artist describes the track as “enough to keep bodies moving and hearts confused”
Dualist Inquiry’s new track does not holding back on feelings. ‘Get You Back’ is a dancefloor cut that drifts between melancholy and momentum; kind of like a split personality.
Swerving from warm, groove-driven melancholy to full-blown dancefloor propulsion, ‘Get You Back’ continues the introspective streak seen in his 2024 album ‘When We Get There’.
However, this time Dualist Inquiry turns it outward, channelling emotional confusion into movement. Rather than choosing between a live-band sound and club-driven production, he fuses the two.

Built from the ground up with live drums, bass guitar and a jam-session spirit, the track opens with a gentle groove, warm synths and house-leaning vocals that evoke a kind of wistful intimacy.
But just as you’re wrapped in its soft melancholy, the track switches gears. Percussion crashes in, the energy lifts, and suddenly you’re dancing through heartbreak.

Vocal chops and crisp production keep it tight (never overcrowded) with just enough space to breathe and feel.
“‘Get You Back’ is what happens when a dancefloor anthem gets tangled up in its own feelings,” says the artist.
“It’s bouncy, driving, dreamy, and just a little ridiculous, enough to keep bodies moving and hearts confused. The whole thing feels like a high-speed chase scene where you're fleeing from a solitary-flower-wielding pursuer who wants you back, but it's too little, too late.”
Dropping tomorrow (July 30), pre-order ‘Get You Back’ here.
