yingtuitive unveils personal & textural debut ‘Letters to Self’ on Third Place

Singapore-born, London-based producer yingtuitive (real name Hannah Chia) makes an elegant entrance with ‘Letters to Self’, a debut LP on Third Place, the imprint helmed by Will Hofbauer.

“Every musical moment in this album is essentially a letter to my self in some form…” the artists shares.

In eight original compositions, ‘Letters to Self’ traverses gamelan-inspired patterns, field recordings from Singapore and the UK, ambient textures, and painterly piano lines.

Though rooted in ambient sensibilities, the EP explores rich sonic experimentation and layering, elevating the listener’s appreciation for soothing sounds.

‘braided cords’ flicker with glitchy, chime-strewn energy, ‘moonstorm’ offers warm tonal balm, while ‘citrine’ gently propels with its progressive beats and ‘pandan’ captures wistfulness in its angelic piano tones.

The Salamanda remix of ‘blue’ adds the duo’s signature touch, slightly lifting the tempo and weaving in light percussion and playful synths for a dreamy, minimalist rework.
