SUDO return to Drumcode with expansive four-tracker ‘We Are Free’

SUDO return to Drumcode with ‘We Are Free’, the follow-up to their critically praised 2024 label debut ‘Real World’, which topped Beatport’s charts.

Once again, the brother duo of Isao and Takashi deliver new tracks brimming with atmosphere and precision, delving into themes of freedom, divinity, memory and transition, all while staying true to their trademark emotional, layered take on techno.

The title track ‘We Are Free’ stands out with its hybrid palette of electro-laced techno, ambient textures and breakbeat-infused rhythm.

“We wanted to express in a powerful and explosive way one of our purposes on the dancefloor—a time of celebration, and freedom from restrictions,” says Isao. Spoken word elements add a cerebral edge, making it anthemic yet also introspective.

‘Elysium’ follows with raw industrial drive, uplifted by a celestial break inspired by a children’s choir heard in Berlin Cathedral.

“It took a long time to produce with many patterns until we were satisfied,” Isao reveals. “It was a real process of immersing oneself in the hypnotic groove and finding divinity.”

On ‘Lost in Paradise’ (inspired by Bart Skils’ NYE set in Argentina), sun-washed vocals and crisp percussion represent early Ibiza mornings.

The EP then closes with ‘Horizon’—a reflective yet danceable finale, with a warm but bittersweet tone perfect for the darkness of early morning hours.
