Ed Banger reveals Thomas Bangalter as composer for new Salvador Dalí film
Directed by Quentin Dupieux aka Mr. Oizo, Daaaaaalí! is set for a wider theatrical release on February 7
Former Daft Punk-er Thomas Bangalter has been announced as the composer for the soundtrack of Daaaaaalí! — an upcoming French comedy film directed by Quentin Dupieux aka Mr. Oizo.
The announcement was made by Ed Banger Records on Instagram, and the label will release the soundtrack on February 9.
Available for pre-order, the limited edition Daaaaaalí! soundtrack features a 10-inch black vinyl with a track on each side, accompanied by a poster.
Described as “a real fake biopic”, the film premiered at Venice Film Festival last year and is Dupieux’s twelfth feature film.
The storyline follows a French reporter who engages with Salvador Dalí on multiple occasions in an unsuccessful endeavour to advance a documentary project.
It features multiple actors such Gilles Lellouche, Edouard Baer, Jonathan Cohen, Pio Marmai, and Didier Flamand playing the titular role, with the film scheduled for a wider theatrical release on February 7.
