Darker Than Wax marks its vinyl return with Oye Manny’s ‘Living Water’

Singapore label Darker Than Wax returns to vinyl releases after more than two years with a fresh 12-inch release announced from Houston-based artist Oye Manny.

The EP dives deep into Manny’s recent lane, packed with infectious rhythms, unfiltered fun, and groove from start to finish. His Colombian roots shine through with a Latin flair and funk edge, giving the record a distinct vibrancy.

Titled ‘Living Water’, it embodies “Manny’s connection to water as a living element – fluidity, rhythm, and abundance of life all at once.”

The A-side delivers percussion-forward, chord-driven house stompers primed for poolside sessions and open-air dancefloors. Flipping over, the B-side heads into slightly darker territory yet still keeps the energy playful and fun.

Standout cut ‘Visaje’ brings percussion to the forefront, with off-kilter turns and leftfield choices around every corner, making it one we’re itching to hear on a proper soundsystem.

The project also comes with a remix from Singapore-based producer and DTW core member Dexter Colt, offering a deeper, Chicago-inspired rework of ‘Malta Sip’.

Although only lead single ‘Palmira’ is available to listen now, it’s an excellent appetiser for an equally excellent EP.
