Continuum Bass is set to return to Fête de la Musique Manila 2025 with a three-venue Bass Crawl—a major milestone for the Filipino underground.

Founded by producer and journalist Ezzrei in 2022, Continuum Bass is the country’s first platform dedicated solely to bass-forward music, spotlighting genres like dubstep, jungle, footwork, trap, halftime, and deconstructed club.

In 2024, Continuum Bass made history by curating the first-ever all-bass stage; this year’s Bass Crawl expands into three distinct venues in Makati, showcasing different facets of bass culture.

The crawl opens at 88 Wok and Dimdim Speakeasy, where dubstep, ragga jungle, and experimental club sounds will take over. “We’re flipping a neighbourhood dim sum spot into a bass-heavy rave space,” says Ezzrei.

The upstairs area links to Modular Studios, a DJ school and mentorship hub, reinforcing Continuum’s integration of nightlife and education.

Refined cocktail lounge Electric Sala, home of Continuum’s all-female rave Sub Domina, hosts the second leg, highlighting UK garage, breaks, and ghetto tech. “By taking over this space, we bridge underground sound with elevated settings, showing that bass isn’t limited to warehouse chaos—it can evolve, adapt, and command the room with elegance,” she explains.

The third stop, Mono by Phono, delivers high-fidelity sets of live jungle, acid breaks, deep dub, halftime, ambient bass, dub-inflected explorations. “It’s where listeners come to engage deeply, as a music fan and as a part of the community, and not just dance,” says Ezzrei.

The line-up features several regional names who have already made their mark on Mixmag AsiaHideki Ito, LONER, and m4r1w4r4—as well as emerging forces like Bantayan Bass Club from Cebu.

As Ezzrei puts in, “While ‘Filipino bass music’ doesn’t yet have a defined genre tag, it’s rapidly forming. What we’re seeing now is a slow but intentional shaping of language—one that the rest of the world is only beginning to hear. These are strong statements of Filipino bass identity for a uniquely Filipino contribution to the global bass sound.”

Continuum Bass’ reach extends beyond the streets of Makati with a five-day Foundation.fm Worldwide takeover on June 27-July 3, adding a global dimension to the 2025 Bass Crawl.
