Batavia Collective drop lush single ‘Signs’ ahead of new EP
Out today with weish on vocals, the trio present their most distilled work yet plus drop dates for Asia summer tour
Batavia Collective (BTVC) return with ‘Signs’; a haunting, post-club single featuring Singaporean vocalist weish, out today (June 27) via the collective and label Syndicate SG.
Built on ambient textures, fractured beats, and ghostlike vocal layers, the track trades BTVC’s usual rhythmic density for a stripped-down emotional weight.
“It started as an instrumental with no vocals in mind,” BTVC shares, “but once weish came in, it changed everything. […] ‘Signs’ became our quietest piece, but also our most emotionally loaded. It’s part ballad, part breakdown, part release.”
With lyrics that evoke a surreal sense of unravelling and emotional dislocation, the track sets the emotional tone for their upcoming EP ‘CODED’, releasing July 18.

Shaped as a four-track live document, ‘CODED’ balances jazz-rooted improvisation with the textures and pacing of club minimalism.
It explores a spectrum of energy and moods; from the frenetic urgency of ‘Rush’ to the ritualistic techno leanings of ‘Ring the Bells’ featuring Kamga, and the mechanical yet hypnotic pulse of the title track.

“Every piece reveals another corner of our collective headspace,” the trio adds.
