Bangkok-based initiative Music4Solidarity is set to host BKK4GAZA; a charity event series rallying the city's creative forces to raise support and fundraise for Palestine.
The program, led by co-organisers Pam Anantr and Isaac Aesili, debuts this Friday (November 15) and will bring together over 40 artists across four venues until November 29.
With a diverse line-up featuring artists hailing from Palestine, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Australia, and the Netherlands, and talents including DJs, live performers, painters, dancers, poets, visual artists, chefs, and charity organisers, the program aims to foster solidarity while raising funds for humanitarian aid.

Co-organiser Isaac Aesili shared with Mixmag Asia that Music4Solidarity grew from conversations around the events of October 7, 2023.
“Like many worldwide, we felt a need to raise awareness and take action. Eventually, we set up BKK4GAZA as a humanitarian initiative in solidarity with Palestinians. Our intention is to help those suffering from genocide, forced starvation and ethnic cleansing in Gaza by fundraising through music and artistic collaborations.”
Mixmag Asia also spoke with co-organiser Pam Anantr who said, "Amidst this weird time in the world, so much cruelty as we scroll on our phone. We are witnessing daily genocide in Palestine live on social media like it has never been before. History books have been printed but what’s happening now is a big scar to humanity, the system is still broken. We went through so much sorrow and trauma feeling so powerless.”

She continues, “Music4Solidarity is a platform that we would like to create for everyone to offer their hands of contribution to fight collectively for positive change through music and various forms of creativity. We can go beyond being an audience to this crisis and aim for collective liberation.”
In support of the initiative, Music4Solidarity also released an exclusive mix from Hi(gh) Hat, which they describe as “a raw and emotional journey through the intense feelings surrounding the war in Gaza.” Listen below.
