If you’re in the market for a new pair of headphones and looking for something that’s not ubiquitous and white, here you go. Beats has collaborated with fragment design, a Japanese brand founded by the multidisciplinary godfather of streetwear fashion Hiroshi Fujiwara, on a limited edition Powerbeats Pro wireless earbuds drop.

The convergence adopts fragment’s iconic monochrome and minimal design in a tonal black-on-black design with both brand’s logos printed on each side in white. The iconic double lightning logo appears on one earbud with fragment branding on the other. The charging case also has the same black-on-black design.

Apparently, several colourways had been explored but Hiroshi Fujiwara settled on black, saying “nothing beats black on black.”

The wireless earbuds, which are sweat- and water-resistant, deliver up to nine hours of playback time on a single charge and allow an additional 24 hours of listening time with the bundled case. The accessory also features Siri voice recognition, Class 1 Bluetooth technology for wireless audio sharing, and allows you to connect the two earbuds separately with the Apple H1 chip.

Additionally, there are adjustable ear hooks and four sizes of earplugs to ergonomically fit on your ears. Of course, a built-in sensor pauses music when the earplugs are not in your ears.

The collar is cool but by no means a surprising one. Firstly, the brands have collaborated numerous times before, dating back to 2014.

“I like Beats, and Beats is my choice among earphones. I carry them around everywhere,” Hiroshi Fujiwara comments in a press release.

Aside from that, Hiroshi has long been helping brand’s bridge the west with Japanese aesthetics, and his influences in the industry are phenomenal. The almighty designer and musician has helped shape streetwear culture, he partnered with Nike for consulting work in Japan, and he even mentored Off-White founder Virgil Abloh and Kanye West.

Out today, we don’t know how many were made but we expect these to go fast.

The Beats x fragment design Powerbeats Pro are available for purchase today here for $249.95.
