Asia's first clubbing awards and trade show to hit Macau in 2016

As the dance music industry continues to grow and evolve, so do the businesses that surround it thanks to visitor spending. The latest addition to remind us just how big the industry has become is the inaugural Macau International Clubbing Show (MICS Macau), the first trade show in Asia with a dedicated focus on the nightlife and entertainment industry.

The trade show will take place on May 18-20 at the Venetian Hotel in Macau and offers a unique format that promotes business networking and branding exposure within the industry. Beyond a professional trade show, it will also offer speed dating and match-making by day and a DJ festival at night, while offering international nightlife professionals an opportunity to mingle and get to know one another.

The trade show will showcase the latest in entertainment and event management products and trends such as lighting, pro-audio equipment, food & beverages, bar equipment, design, décor, hospitality technology and solutions, and more. The trade show expects to attract local industry heavyweights such as representative of nightclubs, bars, pubs, hotels, trendy restaurants and cafés.

The event will also feature the first ever Asian Club & Bar Awards and winners will be unveiled and honored at the event. It is organized by the Asian Club & Bar Association, and co-hosted by MICS Macau and Entertaining Asia Limited. The accolades will honor the region’s outstanding clubs and bars that are proponents of best practices. The awards include categories such as Asia’s 30 Best Clubs and Bars, the Best Overall Experience, Best Club and Bar in a particular country /city and the Most Popular Club/Bar Award. There will be an awards ceremony that will celebrate excellence in club and bar concept development, as well as in operations, promotion and innovation.

Josephine Lee, Senior Vice President of Reed Exhibitions Greater China, said: “MICS Macau is a real eye-opener for nightlife industry businesses that want to offer customers a whole new experience and develop exciting new ways to keep them coming back. If expanding market share in the growing Asian nightlife industry is a target, then MICS Macau is essential, thanks to its combination of powerful networking opportunities with cost–effective marketing and branding options.

While the awards are a debut for Macau, MICS Macau will be a collaborative effort between Reed Exhibitions and MICS Monaco, the renowned Monaco International Clubbing Show, which has seen over 10,000 visitors and 100 exhibitors from 30 countries/regions in its last edition. The event debuted in Europe in 2010.
