Apple is rumoured to be creating budget-friendly Airpods

Apple is said to be developing new and affordable AirPods.

After introducing the product in 2016, Apple has already made different versions of Airpods from the AirPods Pro to AirPods Max all ranging from around £130 to £550.

This new rumour of budget-friendly AirPods comes from an analyst of Haitong International Tech Research Jeff Pu whilst in discussion with 9to5Mac.

Pu claims they are in development and will be named AirPod Lite.

He adds that they are to be a “lower priced product” set to compete with non-Apple earbuds.

Expected to drop by 2023 according to Pu’s industry sources, there is also said to be a drop in shipments of AirPods from 73 million units in 2022 to 63 million in 2023.

Even though Pu doesn’t share any information on the product details it's believed that due to their lower price, the AirPods Lite won’t have features such as noise cancelling and spatial audio.

Recently, Apple Music has announced a new karaoke feature titled Apple Music Sing, which allows users to sing-a-long to their favourite tracks.

With millions of songs set to be included within the upcoming feature — users will be able to follow lyrics in real-time, with the option of a "Duet View", plus adjustable track elements and levels.
