Antal & XNYWOLF headline OPTIMAL's return to Jakarta
The multi-genre, multi-room event takes over 4 venues for a midweek affair in the city’s CBD
After a successful first-time run in Bali last year with Esa, Mr Ho and Youandewan as out-of-town headliners, the cult-favourite event OPTIMAL returns to home ground, right in the middle of Jakarta’s CBD.
This time the all-night event takes over the city’s Fairgrounds compound for its fifth iteration on Wednesday, August 16, with Indonesia’s 78th Independence Day celebrated the day after.
Since its conception in 2018, OPTIMAL has been championed as a consistent advocate of innovative scenes and exciting ideas in unique settings, having previously taken over hotels, malls, and even an entire village while providing stellar sets from choice local and international acts.
Marking its grand return to the capital, Double Deer Experience’s signature event continues to stand out as a multi-genre, multi-venue event with a specially curated line-up aligned with the distinct character of each space.

Lucy in the Sky will host the eclectic live, electronica-heavy acts, featuring Kenny Gabriel, Agrikulture, Jevin Julian and Bali-based Dipha Barus, while Swillhouse’s speakers will resonate rhythmic r’n’b and hip hop provided by Byeportia, Egnever, Bebop and Decemberkid.
Headlining on the disco/house front at LIME Lightbar, Rush Hour head honcho Antal will be accompanied by b2b sessions from three of the capital’s most sought-out collectives known for their cutting-edge sets; Perky Club, Sensories and Discouture.

The genre-bending Dutch DJ and musicologist has been keeping audiences on their toes with his soulfully eclectic sets since 1996 — expect anything from boogie-friendly house to the propulsive rhythms of Afrobeat to echo through the night when Antal’s in charge.
Sydney-based XNYWOLF will be on headliner duties at the adjacent cave-like ZoO, bringing forth a bevy of baile funk and international afro intertwined with gritty rap and trap.
Joining him are the Poppin Class collective, Patricia Schuldtz b2b C.N.M plus Yin Yang Brothers who’ll also bring forth the spicy sound of amapiano to the dancefloor.
