Ambient maestro Kin Leonn leads Pulse/Drift: Deep Listening Session at RASA

On November 15, RASA is set to host Pulse/Drift: Deep Listening Session, a three-hour live performance presented by Pureblue in collaboration with Mixmag Asia and the Asian Film Archive.

Performed by Singaporean artist Kin Leonn, the session unfolds as a sonic response to Pulse/Drift: Sonic and Visual Currents in Asian Cinema, the month-long film programme running throughout November.

Kin Leonn’s music moves fluidly between temporal soundworlds and experimental textures. Through gradual shifts in tone and atmosphere, the performance reflects how sound in film builds mood and meaning, carrying the pulse of the moving image into an immersive aural form.

Known as the “ambient boy from Singapore”, Leonn made his mark with 'Commune' in late 2018; a debut album that wove together upright piano and electronic layers to explore memory and connection.

A first-class graduate of the London College of Music and recipient of the Spike Stent Award in 2021, Leonn has since created multi-channel sound installations and cross-cultural collaborations linking Asia and the UK.

His co-production on yeule’s 'softscars' earned critical acclaim, while his soundtrack for Anthony Chen's The Breaking Ice premiered at Cannes to strong international reviews. He's also made appearances at Wonderfruit and AMBIENT KYOTO, alongside artists such as Kiasmos, Explosions in the Sky, Meitei and Christopher Willit.

The evening invites audiences to slow their pace and listen with intent, tracing the contours of sound as it drifts between cinema and live performance. The music flows from rhythmic density to near stillness, allowing silence to become part of the listening field.

The event takes place from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, with tickets priced at SGD28 for Early Bird and SGD35 for General Admission.
