Shi Fu Miz festival shares heartfelt reflections in official aftermovie

The 2023 Shi Fu Miz festival came back to life on Hong Kong's Cheng Chau Island after a three-year COVID-induced break, delivering a heady mix of music, art, and community vibes.

Paris-based collective La Mamie's has been instrumental in shaping Shi Fu Miz since their first tour in Asia in 2015. Their vision, combined with FuFu Creative’s local insight, has turned the festival into a hub for cultural exchange and musical exploration.

Last year’s edition wasn't just about top-tier beats from international heavyweights like Octave One and Midland; it was also a celebration of local talent and underground sounds that put Hong Kong's music scene on the map.

Set against the backdrop of a charming fishing island, Shi Fu Miz offered more than just music. Workshops on permaculture, zero-waste living, and eco-art alongside yoga and sound baths added layers of depth, fostering a holistic festival experience.

The official aftermovie, produced by ABSOLT, captures the very essence of the festival from the organisers themselves, showcasing how it has become a vital platform for the Hong Kong music scene and beyond.

In a nutshell, the Shi Fu Miz is about creating a community that celebrates life, supports local talent, and champions sustainability.

But don’t just take our word for it; watch below and listen to the heartfelt statements from the Shi Fu Miz family themselves.

Shi Fu Miz will return for another highly anticipated edition this year on 8-10 November.

The first round of names that have been announced include Marie Montexier, Marcellus Pittman, Sally C, Nicolas Cruz, Ross from Friends plus regional representation from Afrodite, Chucheewa, Dea Barandana, Darker Than Wax's Dean Chew, Dignos, Klymax residents Dita and Gero, Palm Babys, Krunk Kulture's Rafiki, Rui, Shy Beef and Nebulae.
