Tomorrow Comes The Harvest announces new album, ‘Evolution’
Jeff Mills’ improv-based trio is now joined by tabla virtuoso Prabhu Edouard, following the passing of drummer Tony Allen
‘Evolution’ is the title of Tomorrow Comes The Harvest’s upcoming album, set for an early September release via Axis Records.
The album would mark a second release by the Jeff Mills-led project, with its only previous one being the 2018 self-titled live EP that comprised nine tracks.
Tomorrow Comes The Harvest was a project initiated by Detroit techno legend Jeff Mills alongside late Afrobeat creator and Nigerian drummer Tony Allen. The two then invited veteran keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary to complete the trio, strengthening the group’s cross-genre sensibilities.
“It’s not new, but it’s very unique; the concept is that musicians show up and play together – no rehearsal, just a very spontaneous performance,” Mills mentioned in an interview.
The trio toured globally until the untimely death of Allen in 2020.

Mills then invited tabla virtuoso Prabhu Edouard to join the group, continuing to uphold the explorative nature of the project by intersecting an even more diverse array of sounds and rhythms.
