The footage shows attendees at SPREAD reading on the club floor accompanied by ambient music, gathering 1.000+ Reddit comments
A video of JUCY BOOK RAVE, an event held on September 26 at Tokyo club SPREAD, has gone viral across social media.
The footage (as can be seen on Reddit) shows the club's dancefloor covered in carpet, with attendees sitting, reclining against the walls or lying down with a book while ambient music was playing.
According to the flyer, Saku and お柴鉱脈 were the acts, with つやちゃん and 大田ステファニー歓人 as guests.
The post on Reddit has since gathered more than 1.200 comments, with the top comment reading: "Libraries been real quiet since this dropped".
Many other users have responded to the idea behind the event.
One argued that it should not be called a trend: "I love when people say these things are trends when they are just one off events for a very specific target audience. No one says foam parties or silent discos are trends but Japan does shit like this and it's cool and different.
