TOKiMONSTA releases new song with Atlanta rap duo EarthGang
'Fried For The night' is the first single from TOKiMONSTA's upcoming album
Grammy-nominated Korean/American DJ and producer TOKiMONSTA just released her second track in as many months. 'Fried For The Night' was released last Tuesday featuring Atlanta rap duo Earthgang. Meanwhile, TOKiMONSTA revealed that her upcoming album, 'Oasis Nocturno' will drop on March 20.
A new decade, a new album, a new tour, a new chapter in my journey 🌙 I’m excited to announce my next album “Oasis Nocturno” will be here March 20, 2020— it’ll be brought to life on tour with the Oasis Nocturno Experience. Cya in paradise 🏝 pic.twitter.com/HaJIiuQ9C3

The new single is a departure for TOKiMONSTA – a trippy trap beat that gets elevated by EarthGang’s rapid fire rapping and soaring, soulful vocals. The loopy, surreal aesthetic on ‘Fried For The Night’ is more energetic and bluesy than her past softer, dreamy sound. In the visually stunning video TOKiMONSTA hovers in the background, while EarthGang goes through the various stages of what looks like a crazy trip at an even crazier party. Says TOKiMONSTA: "Everyone has a moment where they feel fried and burnt, but what about those moments you feel fried and turnt? EarthGang brought their special magic to the studio and we made something otherworldly. This song is dedicated to those psychedelic moments where our reality opens up a new point of view."
If this single is anything to go by, it seems like 'Oasis Nocturno' will show her fans a very different side of TOKiMONSTA. Listen to the track below:
Despite battling a rare illness since 2015, TOKiMONSTA was nominated for the Grammy's Electronic Album Of The Year Award in 2019 with her album 'Lune Rouge' – making her the first woman or Asian-American producer ever nominated for the award. Atlanta hip-hop duo EarthGang has been making quite a name for themselves by integrating Atlanta's hip hop scene with trap, funk and soul for the past few years. Their song 'Down Bad' with J. Cole, J.I.D, Bas and Young Nudy is nominated for 'Best Rap Performance' at this year’s Grammys.
