Tim Bourne kicks off new Perk-X imprint with 'Future Discovery' EP

Bali-based producer Tim Bourne kicks off an exciting new venture with ‘Future Discovery’, the inaugural release from Perk-X, the newly launched sub-label of Perky Club Records.

The new Jakarta-based imprint is said to be focused on curating and distributing “more club-oriented sounds”.

In collaboration with Barcelona’s Subwax Distribution (co-founded and curated by Baldo), ‘Future Discovery’ offers four meticulously crafted tracks that blend elements of trance, house, and progressive sounds.

Baldo also performed in Jakarta at the Perk-X launch event last Friday (October 18) at Zodiac.

Known for spotlighting legends and fresh talent alike—think Fluxion, Orlando Voorn, Dawl, and Gary Martin—Subwax is now welcoming its first Indonesian artist to the fold with this release, adding an exciting new chapter to its ever-evolving roster.

Tim himself describes the EP as a step into his creative future; “I'm exploring and discovering the sound I want to achieve in the future, right now, in the present,” he explains.

The title track leads the release, combining hypnotic rhythms and layered synths, followed by ‘Nocturnal Beings’, a bass-driven groove designed for late-night dancefloors.

‘Brightness’ introduces uplifting, euphoric tones, while the final track, ‘In My Dreams’, delivers arpeggiated leads and dynamic breaks, inspired by a melody he dreamt up.
