The Soundboks Rider is a portable speaker you can sling across your body
Up to 35 hours of battery and 118dB packed into a 6.5kg setup
Soundboks has released Rider; a 6.5kg Bluetooth speaker built for those who don't want to choose between portability and volume.
It hits 118dB and runs on two Class-D amplifiers, paired with an 8-inch woofer and a 1.2-inch tweeter covering a 40Hz–20kHz range.
A built-in DSP called the Adaptive Bass Enhancer keeps the low end from getting muddy, even when you push the volume up.
Battery life ranges from eight hours at full blast to 35 hours at mid-volume, and the battery pack is swappable; it’s the same one used across other Soundboks speakers, so an easy upgrade if you already own one.
A full recharge takes two hours over USB-C, and an IP66 rating means it can withstand dust and rain.

For connectivity, it only requires either Bluetooth 4.2 or a single 3.5mm AUX input. There's no Pro Panel and no TeamUp linking to other speakers as Rider is meant to work alone, not as part of a bigger rig.

There’s an app that lets you tweak EQ, save sound profiles for different spaces, switch between stereo and mono, and lock the speaker remotely with a PIN.
