Nik Bentel Studio turns handbags into soundsystems
The Tati Fête Speaker & Mixer Bags are made from clear acrylic & fitted with real, working components for a portable DJ setup
New York City-based Nik Bentel Studio has turned the idea of a handbag into something far more interesting for anyone who lives in sound.
The Tati Fête Speaker Bag and The Tati Fête Mixer Bag are made from precision-machined acrylic with visible wiring and exposed hardware.
The collection—inspired by Jacques Tati’s 1949 film Jour de Fête—explores the idea of turning familiar objects into tools that combine practicality and play.
The Speaker Bag exactly what it sounds like—a portable Bluetooth 5.0 speaker that fits in your hand. It pushes around 71 dB SPL with crisp stereo output, fuller bass and treble, and a three-hour battery life.
It also pairs with another unit over True Wireless Stereo for a wider field, while RGB lighting built into the shell adds a subtle visual rhythm to playback.

The Mixer Bag takes the same form and turns it into a compact four-channel mixing desk. It handles both 6.35 mm and 3.5 mm inputs, runs stereo or mono, and includes LED level meters for live feedback.
Each channel has its own volume control, and the system runs cleanly off a 5 V power source, so no bulky adapters needed. Both bags can be used separately or together as a compact, mobile DJ setup.
