Lost Frequencies & Aroop Roy take over Bangkok's skyline for NYE

We’re starting to feel it’s true what they say about “no one does NYE like The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon”. As the busy holiday season swings into full gear, the establishment caters to the needs of both local and international tourists who crave the finer things in life. Putting their best foot forward, The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon conjures up glamourous experiences from their dining and nightlife venues that are set to close off 2022 at new heights.

From the very first step inside, you’ll be greeted by a roller disco affair at The Plaza, with daily DJ sets curated by the hotel itself. This is a nod to 1980s Hollywood — where The Standard was born.

Launched originally in Tinsel town, The Standard has made its mark in locations across the globe including in New York, Miami, London, the Maldives and now includes the brand’s Asia flagship, The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon, which just had its official grand opening on December 14.

The celebrations went on to invite Rich Medina, Stretch Armstrong, Alex from Tokyo and Diplo to the city, providing a truly fitting welcome for The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon.

Topping off celebrations this year is one of the hotel’s several New Year’s Eve events that’s been the talk of many electronic music enthusiasts of the city. Known as Bangkok’s most dramatic rooftop venue, Sky Beach will host an exciting send-off to 2022 and an elated welcoming of 2023 on December 31.

Warming up the party will be DJ sets from local nightlife heroes before the hotel brings on world-renowned acts Lost Frequencies and Aroop Roy.

Mentioned by Brownswood Recordings and now-former Worldwide FM head honcho, Gilles Peterson, as a “Brilliant producer who never fails,” London-based Aroop Roy continues to cement his name as an eclectic tastemaker with sets that blend borderless, soulful sounds of house, techno, jazz and broken beats.

As for Lost Frequencies, it’s safe to say he needs little to no introduction. Real name Felix De Laet, the Belgian producer rose to fame with his 2014 banger ‘Are You With Me’ and the 2021 earworm ‘Where Are You Now’ which features the vocals of Calum Scott. He’s also established the Found Frequencies label which has signed over 30 artists globally.

Tickets to Sky Beach’s event go for THB8,000 with access to a two-hour open bar from 10pm till midnight.

Thinking of splurging more for this special occasion? Purchase a pass to a VIP experience at The Peak for THB 18,000 per person (minimum of four guests per table), which includes one bottle of premium Champagne per person and countdown shots at midnight.
