Sasha Grey teams up with Hong Kong producer Silverstrike
'Superman' remix is second single off Billboard Electric Asia compilation
U.S. actor, author and DJ Sasha Grey has dropped a new single, 'Superman' remixed by Hong Kong producer Silverstrike as an exclusive track on the recent 'best of Asia' compilation Billboard Presents: Electric Asia Vol 3. The track was the second single from the album, released in China exclusively on NetEase Cloud Music. The album is available through AWAL for the rest of the world.
Silverstrike is known for his dark forays into dubstep, bass and EDM and he doesn't disappoint on 'Superman' – it's nasty. The track is built around Sasha's seductive spoken vocal, 'And he said...let me be your superman' but where her original is firmly rooted in a cool tech house vibe, Silverstrike takes the track into a very grimy place indeed. The remix is surprisingly laced with a South Asian/Middle Eastern vocal and melody, and the bass is a sonic thunderclap. When the drop kicks in all hell breaks loose into four on the floor-meets-dubstep mayhem. This track feels like a few different songs in one, because it keeps changing, but that's what makes it so interesting. You'll definitely have to listen a few times. Check it out here:
