Red Pig Flower's ‘We Need Space’ oozes deep, minimal pleasures
An immersive sonic journey through psychedelia-infused house & mesmerising grooves in 4 tracks
Red Pig Flower continues to showcase her dedication towards crafting her distinct blend of psychedelia-infused, stripped-back house in her new EP ‘We Need Space’.
Out now via Swiss imprint Adam’s Bite (home to cuts by Nu Zau, Barac, Cristi Cons, Traumer and Ion Ludwig), the Korean-Japanese artist’s release features four original compositions — one of which comes in an instrumental version of the title track.
The opener ‘We Need Space’ is a fusion of intricate bass grooves, lively percussion, and ever-evolving, bubbling synths that interweave seamlessly. Listen carefully and a mesmerising, spoken word vocal weaves its way through the groove, adding to the hypnotic atmosphere.
Following this, an instrumental version of the track provides a more robust, drum-centric experience by stripping away the vocal elements, allowing listeners to zone in on the minimalistic yet intricate arrangement.

‘Separation’ offers a more frenetic vibe with its amalgamation of oscillating synth flutters, dub-inspired percussion, and low-slung, groove-inducing drums that shift and evolve throughout the track, with a slightly darker melody that pulls you in deeper.

'The Feeling' rounds off the EP, delving once more into even deeper dimensions with enigmatic soundscapes, hypnotic vocal incantations, and gritty stabs anchored by an energetic bass groove and crisp, crunchy percussion.
We suggest listening in order for a fully immersive experience of spiralling down a dark yet delightful sonic tunnel of sounds.
