Keita Sano packs secret weapons for Delusions of Grandeur debut

Japanese house music producer Keita Sano is back with an impressive, no-BS, four-track EP.

Despite his credible discography that has seen labels such as Mister Saturday Night, Let's Play House, Morris Audio, and 1080P put out his affluent style of house music, with his ‘Love is Emotion’ EP, Sano makes his debut on one of Jimpster's imprints, Delusions of Grandeur.

The EP's opening track 'Runner' bursts forth with raw energy and an insistent acid bassline. Twisted and atmospheric effects ebb and flow; while seemingly straightforward, the track possesses the ability to be a great tool track too.

‘Violet’ is a deep house exploration framed within a laid-back groove and worn-down rawness that Keita consistently brings to his productions. Tight chord tension riding a steady groove eventually leads into the warm embrace of a piano drop before an orchestral finale.

‘I'm A Man’ picks up the pace once again, delivering an acid-tinged workout that keeps you yearning for more. Keita brings acid and disco heads together, for quite possibly a certified secret weapon for DJs.

Culminating the release is the EP’s title track ‘Love Is Emotion’: the Okayama native steers in an off-kilter, colourful and melodic direction by juxtaposing arpeggios and soothing chords that result in a deep and immersive groove that comfortably rounds off a very impressive EP.

While Sano is known for his house-oriented antics, the Japanese producer also has an adventurous experimental side about him. He recently dropped experimental, dub and half-time flavours on 'The Fresh Prince of Babylon' and will be putting out a fully abstract and experimental body of works titled 'You Can't Save Me' this Friday.
