Rare Daft Punk skateboard goes on sale for US$15,000
The deck – made by Daft Punk collaborator and creative director Cédric Hervet – is one of just 25
A rare, limited edition Daft Punk skateboard has gone on sale for almost US$15,000.
The skateboard was originally unveiled in 2017 by the duo’s long-running collaborator and creative director Cédric Hervet, who produced a limited run of just 25 decks.
The collection was first sold at a pop-up exhibition at Maxfield in Los Angeles – each board coming in a glossy black finish with the duo’s recognisable logo printed on the underside.

Now, eight years after the collection was first released, a “mint condition”, boxed skateboard has emerged on eBay, with an eye-watering asking price of US$14,990.
The skateboard is number 11 of the 25-deck run, with a photo of the number etched inside its hand-built wooden box. The box also features the Daft Punk logo, as well as both Hervet’s and Maxfield’s logos.
In 2023, the 23rd deck in the collection was sold in a ‘Marvels of Modern Music’ auction for US$3,119. The auction also included rare pieces of memorabilia from Prince, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, and many more.
According to the 2023 auction, the “rare” boards measure 27.5″ long and 6″ wide, and come complete with “the Daft Punk and Maxfield logos laser-etched on the bottom”.
Cédric Hervet is part of the Daft Arts crew – the duo’s production company. As a long-time collaborator of Daft Punk, he’s helped to direct music videos and co-produced the 2003 cult classic film, Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem.

In 2015, Hervet also produced a limited run of penny board skateboards based on the cover art for 1995’s ‘Da Funk’, originally priced at £179.20 (around US$243). The decks sold out shortly after release.
