Pyra teams up with AI for futuristic dance-pop anthem ‘dream girl[s]’

London/Bangkok-based artist Pyra has just dropped their latest single, ‘dream girl[s]’—an electro-dance pop anthem that takes aim at the rising role of AI in human relationships.

Co-written with Google’s cutting-edge Gemini AI, the track is a thought-provoking yet undeniably infectious journey through the ever-blurring lines between humanity and technology.

‘dream girl[s]’ doesn’t shy away from controversy, with lines like “Real girls are overrated” and “I'll change all of me so that I could be her” questioning the ethics of AI companionship. It raises the uncomfortable possibility of a future where people prefer AI-generated partners over human connection, turning the dance floor into a space for reflection as much as celebration.

Musically, it’s a short-but-sweet earworm. The production leans heavily on shimmering pop sensibilities, but it’s Pyra’s serene vocals and the track’s infectious groove that make it stand out. Speaking on the release, Pyra said, “With 'dream girl[s]', we wanted to shake things up and get people thinking about what kind of world we're building. “dream girl[s]” marks the first taste of Pyra’s forthcoming LP, PYRADISE Pt. 2, which promises to innovatively dive further into the future of AI and the evolving roles of female and nonbinary figures in this new world.
