PinkPantheress set to become a doctor of music
The musician was granted an honorary doctorate from the University of Kent for her "contribution to music in the digital age"
PinkPantheress has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Kent, meaning she is now a doctor of music.
In a post on Instagram, the university announced it was were awarding the 'Boy's a Liar' singer the degree for "her contribution to, and achievements in music in the digital age" – with a ceremony set for July 22 in Canterbury Cathedral, Kent.

PinkPantheress will be joined by the likes of writer Sir Michael Morpurgo MBE and filmmaker Andrea Arnold, who are also receiving honorary degrees in their respective fields. The singer's roots are in Kent, as she in grew up Canterbury.
In June, PinkPantheress played her first ever set at Glastonbury, in which she shouted out the University of Kent: "Who went to Kent uni?", getting lots of cheers in response, warranting a repost from the official university Instagram.
In response to the announcement of the award, the singer took to her Instagram stories saying: "Being made a doctor of music is insane," alongside crying emojis.

"My whole life is side missions at this point I love it. I am so honoured to get this, this is so cool WTFJSJWJW," she added.
This month has been full of side missions for the singer, as on July 3, she took to Twitter to share she had won a trophy in an under 25s chess tournament stating: "I don't mention the chess lineage that runs in my family enough girl."
On July 8, her collaboration with Danny L Harle, a PC music alum and GRAMMY nominated producer, was released. In an interview with Mixmag for the cover of the March issue, she cited Harle as an huge inspiration: "He's one of the best mentors I've ever had. I love him!" She told Mixmag.
