Peggy Gou wraps up her stay in Bali by rolling out another clothing collab
The collection is her second with the Potato Head brand
“Illustrated by Peggy Gou, worn by you” reads the tagline for the South Korean artist’s second collection with Balinese beach club and creative village Potato Head.
The new Head Face Ink collaboration was unveiled on January 1 and features a trio of shirts decorated with Peggy’s own illustrations that she’s drawn in her sketchbook while travelling between gigs across the world. Both parties worked closely to bring Gou’s illustration sketchbook to life and turning them into eco apparel.
Much like her previous collaborations with the brand, the collection is made of Tencel and uses coconut shells as buttons. The sustainably produced range comes in three colourways in limited edition runs.
To celebrate the drop, Potato Head has also brought back previous highly sought-after Peggy Gou x Potato Head releases: Head Face Ink joins reissues of the Welcome Home (A/W19) and Read to Gou (A/W18) collections.
Peggy Gou kicked off the hype around the collection alongside headlining Desa Potato Head’s New Year’s Eve party alongside DJ Harvey, and it was her fifth time playing at the beach club. The event drew 4,500 people to experience the last sunset of 2019 and the first sunrise of 2020 alongside the superstar DJs signature beats. Following the party, the pair hosted an after party at Desa Potato Head restaurant Tanaman, where they carried on the night playing to an intimate crowd.
