Paula Tape launches !Hola Mundo! club night & spends New Year’s in the region

Hailing from the vibrant streets of Santiago De Chile, Paula Tape's musical roots trace back to pounding polyrhythmic beats as the drummer for indie bands, laying the foundation for her electrifying DJ sets.

Now based in Milan, her sonic prowess lies in an intimate understanding of Balearic sounds, skillfully manoeuvring between underground anthems and the enigmatic realms of synth house.

The heartbeat of Paula's musical expression is deeply rooted in the percussive sounds of her drumming days — a distinctive element that permeates her original productions and remixes. ‘Agua Congas’, her debut EP on SOBO, thrust her into the spotlight, earning accolades from discerning tastemakers and fans worldwide.

Signing with other labels such as Rhythm Section, Permanent Vacation, Ransom Note, Planet Trip, and Alzaya, Paula Tape's sonic odyssey continued with the release of the mesmerizing ‘Octava Dimension’ EP, skillfully remixed by maestros Elias Mazian and Tornado Wallace.

In 2021, Paula solidified her position in the Rhythm Section family with the hypnotic ‘Panamericana’ and the subsequent release of her full-bodied 4-track EP, ‘Astroturismo’.

As a testament to Paula's commitment to preserving and sharing the gems of the past, she actively contributes to 'Tempo Dischi' — a label that specialises in reissuing Italian rarities.

Beyond the decks, Paula takes the airwaves by storm as a resident presenter on Worldwide FM, where her monthly show 'Astral Jam' invites listeners on a sonic expedition through odd rhythms, leftfield sounds, and organic dance.

She has a new curated club residency named !Hola Mundo! which takes place at Badaboum in Paris, Apollo Club in Milan and partnered up with Night Tales in London. The residency aims to showcase Paula Tape's distinctive style and sound, fostering a diverse space for music enthusiasts to come together and celebrate.

Its line-up features names that are nothing short of interesting and exciting: Andy Butler (Hercules & Love Affair DJ Set), CC:DISCO!, Kim Ann Foxman, Massimiliano Pagliara, Mimi, Optimo, Palms Trax, Raphael Top Secret, Rollover DJs, Ruf Dug and more.

Coming over to Asia, Paula promises a series of unforgettable performances that showcase her dynamic and vibrant sound.

One of the tour's highlights is the launch of her !Hola Mundo! branded show at Potato Head Bali, where she will be joined by the likes of Fantastic Man and Dita for a night of pulsating beats and infectious rhythms.

From there, Paula gears up for a New Year's Eve celebration in Tokyo, sharing the stage with none other than Floating Points. Adding to the anticipation, this tour marks Paula's debut in India and Thailand, with upcoming shows at Magnetic Fields and Wonderfruit respectively.
