Yang Bing leads the charge at NIMB On The Bund series debut
Curated by Break The Wall, enjoy quality music with Shanghai’s stunning skyline as the backdrop
On September 7, Mixmag Asia and Asia-based crew Break The Wall will launch NIMB On The Bund — an unprecedented hotel party series that offers an experience that veers away from the mainstream, which will once again rekindle the glory of Shanghai's most joyful nightlife in the 1930s.
Inspired by the legendary club manager Freddy Kaufmann who worked for Cathay Hotel Tower Club in the 30s, this event offers an unparalleled experience, blending cutting-edge music with one of the most breathtaking skyline views in the world at Shanghai’s Wanda Reign On The Bund.
Headlining the night is Yang Bing; a pivotal figure in the Asian electronic music scene, with a career that has shaped China’s underground culture.
Starting in the mid-90s, he broke away from Beijing’s commercial music clubs to pioneer the city’s first underground raves, eventually founding the legendary China Pump Factory parties and organising the iconic Party at the Great Wall, which placed China on the global electronic music map.

Internationally, he made history as the first Chinese DJ to perform in Europe, headlining the Bern Electronic Music Convention and later playing at major events like Zurich Street Parade and Rio Parade alongside global giants like Ministry of Sound.
His deep, minimal, and tech-house sets have captivated audiences worldwide, including performances at The Liquid Room in Singapore and Fusion Festival in Berlin. In addition, his documentary, Break The Wall, earned him recognition at the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), further solidifying his role in connecting Eastern and Western club cultures.
Alongside Yang Bing, the line-up features a diverse array of talent—Break The Wall founder Thomas Futoso, Max Shen, Edison Chen, and Lunarescape, will each bring their unique sound to the mix.
