MYRNE channels progressive house vibes from his youth for ‘Freefall’
Featuring vocals by Joyia, the track once again highlights MYRNE’s adroitness in creating transcendental atmospheres
Teaming up with Canadian singer-songwriter Joyia, MYRNE is set to release his new single via Astralwerks titled ‘Freefall’.
The single, releasing tomorrow, July 14, via Astralwerks, comes before his US and Canada tour which kicks off next month.
A dancefloor-ready tune, the four-minute-twenty-seconds track is inspired by the deep and sensual progressive house vibes MYRNE enjoyed in his younger years. Utilising his Dave Smith Prophet-6 synthesizer, he created an elegant sound design motif that developed into the tune’s main melody.

Accompanying the catchy beat and buzzy low-end are Joyia’s ethereally airy vocals that undulate between a delicate composition of percussive sounds and euphoric synths. A galactic drop in the second half of the track once again highlights MYRNE’s adroitness in creating transcendental atmospheres for his arrangements.

He also goes on to reference the influential sonic repertoire of labels like Anjunadeep and Enhanced, explaining how “I loved that sound as a teenager growing up. It just feels so freeing to put it out on my own project.”
