MUTEK.JP presents avant-garde line-up & multi-venue experience in Tokyo
3 days of cutting edge music, immersive audiovisuals & innovative digital art in the heart of the city this weekend
MUTEK.JP, the Tokyo edition of the global festival dedicated to electronic music and digital art, returns on November 22-24, 2024.
With performances taking place across two iconic venues—Spotify O-EAST and WOMB—the event offers an eclectic program that showcases innovations in sound and technology.
Additionally, Shibuya Hikarie Hall B will host exhibitions and conferences, further expanding the festival's cultural scope.
The Nocturne sessions will be held at Spotify O-EAST on November 22, 23, and 24, featuring cutting-edge audiovisual showcases. Meanwhile, WOMB will host the late-night MUTEK.JP × WOMB programs on November 22 and 23, focusing on experimental and techno sounds.
The line-up features a stellar roster of international talent, bringing diverse sonic perspectives to Tokyo.
Berlin-based composer Caterina Barbieri will deliver a mesmerising collaboration with visual artist Ruben Spini, while Grand River, also from Berlin, premieres her A/V set titled All Above.
The event will also invite Canadian artist Kara-Lis Coverdale, a groundbreaking figure in electro-acoustic realm, and Palestinian artist Maher Daniel who will make his debut in Japan.
Also performing is Margaret Dygas, a revered name in techno and house circles.

Other highlights include the innovative Rhizomes AV multimedia project by Paris-based composer Aho Ssan and visual artist Sevi Iko Dømochevsky, alongside Taiwan’s Meuko! Meuko! and the new media collective NONEYE.
Japanese artists will also have a strong presence at the festival.
Hiroshi Watanabe (Kaito) will present an audiovisual live show, and Sapphire Slows will perform with visual artist Myriam Boucher.

Other local highlights include Risa Taniguchi and H2KGRAPHICS, experimental electronic noise and industrial music artist Yuko Araki, plus vibraphonist, marimbist, and composer Masayoshi Fujita who will play new compositions from his latest work, Migratory.

Tickets are available now, with an advance festival passport priced at JP¥25,000, granting access to all sessions at Spotify O-EAST and WOMB.
