Milkman returns to Mumbai’s Famous Studios for Groove X Festival in December
After 5 years, the collective is “returning to the warehouse where it all began” says founder Jai Anand
After a five-year hiatus, Milkman returns to Mumbai’s Famous Studios for their festival, Groove X, coming December 7.
In collaboration with the Bonobo collective, they’re bringing an intimate warehouse experience right in the heart of Mumbai, all powered by DNB Audio.
The line-up boasts some stellar names from the international circuit. There's Amsterdam’s Identified Patient; São Paulo’s RHR; and Prague-based producer, badfocus.
In terms of local talent, they’re bringing some of India’s most integral DJs; Kohra, NATE08 and Milkman resident DJs, Jai and Adi.
Mixmag Asia had a word with Jai, founder of Milkman, who reflected on the significance of the venue: "Milkman is returning to the warehouse where it all began—the legendary all-night raves that featured icons like DJ Stingray, Helena Hauff, and Optimo. This venue holds a special place in our journey, and it’s our first time back since hosting Terminal 1 in 2020.”

He continues, “There’s something magical about this space—it’s an old Bollywood film studio with a raw, grungy warehouse aesthetic that’s perfect for a festival like Groove X. We’re thrilled to bring the energy back to our favourite venue and can’t wait to dance with everyone who’s been part of this incredible ride."

Over the past eight years, Milkman has solidified its place in India’s underground music landscape by hosting some of the biggest names in electronic music in this warehouse, including Helena Hauff, Mount Kimbie, DJ Stingray, Mad Miran, Randomer, Roi Perez, Aisha Devi, Optimo, Anthony Naples, Neil Landstrumm and countless others.
With Groove X, they’re poised to continue that legacy and remind Mumbai why they’re one of the country’s most cherished promoters.
