MUS3 offers free online course for musicians to navigate Web3

Introducing MUS3 — an innovative music and Web3 education platform and community that aims to aid musicians and industry professionals navigate and benefit from the world of Web3.

The initiative was launched by Melbourne-based leading creative production agency, CLUB MEDIA LABS. “MUS3 is a space where musicians can learn, collaborate, experiment with, and explore the full potential of Web3,” mentions the press release.

The arrival of Web3 technology has unlocked new possibilities for the music industry. To name a few benefits, it allows the shift of power to creators, improves efficiency and increases engagement with fans and stakeholders thanks to its accessibility.

MUS3's first offering comes in the form of a free, self-paced online course named “Web3 Fundamentals” described as “an introductory course to learn the basics of blockchain and web3 in application to the music industry”.

Funded by the Victorian Music Development Office with additional support from the Australian Council for the Arts, “Web3 Fundamentals” touches on the topics of blockchain, cryptocurrencies, NFTs and Web3 and the practical skills needed related to them.

“With electronic musicians being comfortable with digital technology and often early adopters, Web3 provides new opportunities for artists to connect with fans and monetize their music” mentions the platform founder, Reggie Ba-Pe III.

In addition to leading CLUB MEDIA LABS, the Burmese-born Australian is also known as the former Creative Director of 88rising.

Guest speakers contributing to the free course include Professor Ellie Rennie (RMIT Blockchain Innovation Hub), Max Shand (Founder and CEO of Serenade) and LÂLKA, an Australian independent musician who has benefited from the use of Web3.
