A never-heard-before studio outtake of Daft Punk’s ‘Give Life Back To Music’ has been released.

The demo version of the track, which featured on the duo's fourth and final studio album ‘Random Access Memories’, will be released as part of the upcoming tenth-anniversary reissue of the 2013 record.

The anniversary edition is set to drop on May 20.

Titled ‘GLBTM (Studio Outtakes)’ the six-minute-long demo is an early version with no production work of the now well-known track.

A press statement released on behalf of the robots, says the demo “gives listeners a look at the evolution of the track, and showcases the importance of all elements of the track and how they work together to create the final result.”

The statement continues: “Recording with musicians was a core value Daft Punk took for this album. Listeners can feel the life, energy and joy brought by humans playing instruments in the studio.”

The reissue is set to feature 35 minutes of unreleased music across nine tracks, with ‘GLBTM (Studio Outtakes)’ being the first to be heard ahead of release.

Earlier this month Thomas Bangalter - one of the founding members of Daft Punk - revealed the real reason for the duo’s split in 2021.

In an interview with BBC he explained that he and Daft Punk’s second member Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo had worn out the robot characters.

“Daft Punk was a project that blurred the line between reality and fiction with these robot characters,” he explained. “It was a very important point for me and Guy-Man[uel] to not spoil the narrative while it was happening.”

The official end of Daft Punk was announced with an 8-minute video titled ‘Epilogue’ in February 2021.
