Where are you based and how did you get there?
I’m based in Jakarta, born and raised here.
What’s your favourite thing about the music scene there?
It’s the centre of it, of course, being the capital city and all.
You can almost find any music scene that you like here. Jakarta is rich with dance music history than other cities in Indonesia, from the super club in the 90s, the rave scene until the mid 2000 and later the good underground parties in small bars. Small or medium size is the best for club nights right now.
In five words, what do your DJ sets sound like?
Deep Strange Repetitive Electronic Wave.
And in three words, how would you describe yourself?
Practical, Nonchalant, Bit of a Droll :)
What recent trends in music have you been paying attention to? Have you caught onto them?
Everything 90s element in any genre and yes that is the good stuff.
Are there any producers and DJs in Asia that have recently caught your attention?
Baur is a new solo project from my fellow Dekadenz brother, Aditya Permana. He is a drummer and his production to just everything with only drum machine is amazing.
The Strange Weather crew from Singapore. Club night experimenting live performance from musicians, dancers, DJs and art installations. Be sure to check them out.
Muto's latest Mirage EP, on our label Dekadenz Records with limited tape release. His productions on this 2nd EP will take you down to the deep strange hole.
We’d love to know what you think about AI in music. Are you worried or excited about AI advancement in music?
I believe AI should have a limited function when it comes to the creative industry. We still need them but not free for all.
Tell us about the inspiration behind this mix - what drove your thoughts and emotions, and how did you curate your selection?
Mix to get you going for the weekend? Since there is so much new good music out there and most likely inspired or recycled from different eras, It’s exciting to make the whole selection eclectic and moody.
What equipment did you record this mix on?
Pioneer CDJs and mixer.
What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen happening from the DJ booth?
I’ve seen people from the dance floor went to the DJ booth scratched the records and even CDJ. I find it a bit odd that you suddenly confident to do that.
Where can we hear you playing next?
There’s this secret location party coming in a couple of weeks for Dekadenz. That should be interesting, but mostly find me in Zodiac, the before or after anything bar in Jakarta.
