Joyland’s Lily Pad Stage gathers cult-favourite regional electronic acts
Rán Cap Duôi, Mong Tong, rEmPiT g0dDe$$ and more join the festival, which also features James Blake, Gilles Peterson, Todd Terje
Joyland Festival is set to take place for the third time at Peninsula Island The Nusa Dua, Bali, on March 1-3.
Offering a choice of three distinct stages, the event has recently announced its full line-up, consisting of several international electronic music heavyweights.
Among them is GRAMMY Award-winning multi-instrumentalist, James Blake, who has been chosen to headline the third day. Joining him on the Day 3 line-up is Norway’s Todd Terje and his sets that range from kitschy Euro sounds to deep funk and Latin jazz.
Head honcho of Talkin’ Loud and Acid Jazz plus BBC Radio host Gilles Peterson is scheduled to perform on Day 2, while Japan’s Shintaro Sakamoto will be headlining Day 2.
As it did last year, Joyland’s Lily Pad Stage will feature a finely curated selection of electronic acts. This year, Kasimyn from Gabber Modus Operandi teams up with artist and cultural activist Wok the Rock to develop a line-up that highlights Bali’s contemporary and experimental music scene.
Local names set to perform are Gangsar, Graung, Gumatat Gumitit Gospell, Kadapat, Putu Septa & Nata Swara and Rule Kabatram, while PRAED from Lebanon, Lunadira from Malaysia, Mona Evie from Vietnam and Blush from Singapore also join the Lily Pad Stage line-up.
