Sailing the high seas in March 2023, IT’S THE SHIP returns to Singapore

IT’S THE SHIP is finally setting sail again after a three-year hiatus. This time they will be setting sail on March 8-10 next year from its home base in Singapore.

The usual year-end voyage for Asia’s largest festival at sea has switched its compass next year with a spring date for three days and two nights. Could this be seen as a double sailing date in 2023 or a permanent shift in tides for all sailings to come? The upcoming journey will continue on the Genting Dream, the cruiseliner that shipmates have made their home away from home for the past three years (prior to COVID-19).

For 2023, they have plugged in a fitting main theme ‘reunion’ that looks to welcome back past acts and shipmates. A mention in their press release suggests that this reunion might include some of the following — if you’re looking to do a guess the line-up game; “Past shipmates include Baywatch’s David Hasselhoff, Crazy Rich Asian’s Henry Golding, Knife Party, Lil Jon, Krewella, Yellow Claw, Darude, 88rising and many more.” However, every sailing comes with new and unexpected surprises that the team behind IT’S THE SHIP is always able to pull off, so be ready for that as well.

For those who have kept up with their NFT launches and are part of the DuckDrop community, you’re in for a treat as you’d be able to activate IRL utilities such as influencing what happens this upcoming March sailing, party perks, money can’t buy benefits and more.

“We are so excited to be back at sea! The combined love and support we received from our shipmates and most importantly our DuckDrop community was an integral part of ITS THE SHIP’s plans for the future. Duck holders can influence what happens onboard, and we look forward to planning this event and more together,” says Samira Davidson, Project Lead of IT’S THE SHIP.

Our friends at IT’S THE SHIP also provided us with a special Mixmag Asia exclusive for the DuckDrop community not provided in their teaser: Duck holders would also get the chance to purchase a cabin for 2023 for only 1 USD and these would include IRL perks such as artist meet & greet, private shows, product redemption and more. All the more reason to get your hands on their duck NFTs.

Check out the recently-launched teaser video below which has tugged on our reunion heartstrings. More information on cabin sales will be announced soon, so stay tuned on their socials. We won’t be surprised if the team announces other sailings for 2023 as well… Asia’s festival season is back!
