In pictures: Patrón Tequila & Mixmag Asia create intimate moments in Jakarta's nightscene
Relive the full arc of vibe dining to euphoria on the dancefloor
On August 26, Jakarta's dining and club scenes stopped being separate things for one night, when Mixmag Asia and Patrón Tequila launched The Pursuit, an evening that started at an intimate dining room and ended in the wee hours of a Thursday with a room full of elated dancers.
It began at Kilo Jakarta with La Familia, an invitation-only dinner pairing Mexican and Indonesian ingredients across five courses, hosted by Mixmag Asia Director Arun Ramanathan alongside Patrón Tequila's Southeast Asia Brand Ambassador, Maria Kim. Each plate came with its own pour, building from Patrón Silver up to El Alto, the brand's high-altitude expression of 100% Blue Weber Agave from Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco.
Pam Anantr of Salon Kiku in Bangkok, soundtracked the meal course by course, moving through Latin grooves, tropical cuts like Chakachas' 'Jungle Fever', and surprising the room with Indonesian selections by Ahmad Albar alongside Ivo Nilareshna's 'Keroncong Gems', Asian rare grooves from The Mumbai Exchange's 'Ex Generation', jazz funk from 'Jazz Juice Vol. 7' before easing the room toward disco and newer sounds to warm up for what came next.
Once the plates cleared and the needle lifted one final time, the dinner crowd folded into the rest of Jakarta's night owls already gathering at Le Cirque.

Diskoria quickly lifted the night with a live-hybrid set pulled straight from Indonesia's disco archive; Pam Anantr then shifted into club mode. Dita closed things out with a euphoric final stretch that kept the floor full well past bedtime on a school night.
Patrón Tequila signature cocktails kept the night’s ebb and flow as liquid as needed, with the slushie margarita emerging as the clear crowd favourite. And the bottle itself was impossible to miss; its newly redesigned bold silhouette (the brand's first major shape update in 36 years, now echoing the agave piña) from the moment you entered the venue to the tables of the corner sofas.

Five courses, three sets and one continuous thread of agave later, The Pursuit made its case as Jakarta's newest standard for a dinner-to-dancefloor night out.
This was just the first stop on The Pursuit's journey, with more evenings like it already in the works.
