From chilled warm-ups to a powerful headlining set, the city gathered to celebrate the timeless influence of the late Japanese producer
On February 26, 2026, the tour A Tribute To Nujabes DJ Krush “Still Beats, Still Soul” arrived in Seoul; an event especially meaningful in a city where the name Nujabes resonates loudly.
Between Instagram-ready coffee shops and underground hip hop producers, Nujabes' name and music are commonly heard across town.
Hosted by mindmapmusic, dfn and Bolero, the event sold out after only a few days of being announced. Under incredibly pleasant weather, the event (which had originally been planned to take place at Bolero) was moved to the second floor of The Black Label, located on the same street.
With a queue running down an entire street, excitement and intrigue were felt from the early hours of the evening and kept increasing as more and more fans approached the venue. Once inside, anticipation filled the room as everyone waited for DJ Krush to make his appearance.

Before the highly-anticipated set, the crowd enjoyed the opening honours by Hegotsound, Bluehour and Redef, who warmed up the space with chilled beats of classic r&b and hip hop tracks, trip hop, breakbeat and downtempo; a well-planned transition that prepared the dancefloor for the headlining act.
As DJ Krush took the decks, the room's energy drastically changed. It was powerful; no longer downtempo, to say the least, and everyone was there to memorialise each moment. He landed with strong grunge traces, rougher edges and a clear hip hop soul, showcased through his impeccable music selection and scratching techniques. There and then, he proved why he is considered one of the pioneers of Japanese hip hop.

After an unforgettable showcase of technique and music selection, DJ Krush was followed by yet another great name in the scene, DJ Soulscape; one of Korea’s most renowned DJs and producers.
The event was finally wrapped up with a b2b between Redef and DJ Soulscape himself, but the impact of both Nujabes and DJ Krush's names was evident and set the mark straight: Seoul is (also) very much hip hop.
