WeLoveThisCity emerged in 2022 as Hong Kong reopened after extended COVID-19 restrictions. The project organised music events across the city, spanning rooftops, clubs, yachts, underground venues, outdoor spaces, and festivals. It also explored crossover collaborations in fashion and art.

Its defining focus was ethnic and global house music, often combined with live instrumentals, presented in an inclusive environment welcoming people of all backgrounds.

Instead of selling the brand or bringing on external investors, the team chose to conclude the project on its own terms. The decision reflected a commitment to prioritising the original core of the initiative—the music itself.

Over its run, WeLoveThisCity supported both local talent and Hong Kong-based international artists. Notable collaborations included working with Hallex M as well as Emmanuel Jal and Enoo Napa.

WeLoveThisCity will host Hydra’s House Vol. 2 at The Trilogy, once again featuring the project’s signature blend of live instrumentals and global house music. The main set will be performed by Hydra (NG), with supporting sets by Show Of Force, Sino, and Yaboi.

There is no cover charge for attending. Instead, guests are encouraged to make a voluntary donation to Gua Africa, an organisation that provides educational programs for individuals affected by conflict and persecution in East Africa.
