‘Like A Dream’ EP perpetuates Genish’s mastery in producing spellbinding sounds
The two-track EP is out now via Adana Twins’ TAU imprint
January 27 saw the release of Genish’s ‘Like A Dream’ EP via Adana Twins' legendary imprint, TAU. The two tracks he’s bestowed upon us present his exemplary skills in packaging a global outlook and local influences into fresh, vibrant and dance-inducing tracks.
The Tel Aviv native is a pro at granting us with spellbinding sounds, which can be heard in his previous ‘Third Eye’ EP release by Canadian label, Multi Culti. Continuing to carry on the vibrant energy from his past sonic presentation, his new compositions ‘Like A Dream’ and ‘Drum Spell’ exude a certain funky Middle Eastern spirit that Genish proudly embodies.

Opening the EP is the rhythmic drum programming and percussion of ‘Like A Dream’ that lead to a addictingly galloping bassline. Top it off with chopped vocals that gives the track a distinctive Middle Eastern touch, added with a mesmerising breakdown and you’ve got a track that’s bound to connect the mind, body and spirit in a wonderfully unified dance.
The second offering, ‘Drum Spell’, is exactly what it suggests; punchy drum work, menacing b-line plus haunting hushed vocals that continue to resonate throughout the track. Chilling and compelling at the same time, the second track off the EP hypnotises you with its entrancing melody and moody frequencies.
