GǼG release second edition of 'Anarcho Disco' series
An incredible genreless mindbender, the project is the brainchild of Japanese heavyweights Monkey Timers & Keita Sano
Japan’s GǼG has just unleashed the second instalment in their Anarcho Disco series, now available on vinyl via JD Twitch’s Optimo Music.
A daring follow-up to the series' debut released just last month, GǼG—the brainchild of techno heavyweights Monkey Timers and Keita Sano—is proving to be one of Japan’s most genre-defying musical projects.
Crafted from an eclectic mix of samples and unique sonic effects, the project delivers a psychedelic, anarchic soundscape that resists any kind of easy categorisation.
This latest chapter in Anarcho Disco stays true to the chaotic energy of the first edition. Across the seven tracks from both projects, GǼG blends countless genres and styles, tossing in acid-tinged synths, samples, and some always unexpected elements.

Expect everything from groove-laden house to hypnotic ‘90s acid lines, classic disco, harmonicas, and even an audacious guitar solo. Each track pushes the envelope, showcasing the duo’s signature sound while shattering the confines of genre. Subversive is the word—each piece veers into unfamiliar terrain but remains distinctly GǼG.

The standout track on this edition is ‘Fountain’. It’s a wild, unpredictable ride—gritty basslines, mind-melting acid synths, followed by string-laden violin sections and sweeping vocals. It’s controlled chaos that somehow stays grounded despite the frenzy of elements at play—a testament to GǼG’s knack for turning disorder into something cohesive and captivating.
With such bold ambition driving their sound, GǼG continues to break new ground, leaving us eagerly awaiting what comes next from this boundary-pushing duo.
