G5SH drops the sixth single from their new ‘Project Krane’ release
Taiwanese EDM act is crossing over through a series of multi-genre collaborations
Taiwanese edm duo G5SH – previously selected by Alan Walker as the only team from Asia for his remix project ‘Pressplay Remix’ – released their new single ‘你是不是在生氣’ ('Are You Angry') on Valentine’s Day featuring hip hop artists, SJIN and Chang Wu.
This is the sixth release from their recent ‘Project Krane’ release, an attempt to mix edm with other genres. ‘Are You Angry’ features two hip hop artists, but previous tracks were collabs with rock and pop singers. The first release from Project Krane was called ‘Limelights’ featuring Taiwanese singer Lily – a future bounce style track with a fun, throbbing bass and upfront synths.
For crossover appeal, EDM producers in Taiwan tend to partner with r'n'b and hip hop artists, as their scene is more developed and has a longer history than dance music on the island. According to G5SH, producing edm is not easy in Taiwan, but they keep at it by working with other DJs and producers with shows at clubs like Klash, or their recent party at ALTA with DJ Ray Ray last month.
‘你是不是在生氣’ ('Are you angry') by G5SH is out on Feburary 14 on RoboKatZ.
