Singer Fedor Yury debuts his dreamy album ‘from the east’
The 13-track release comes with a music video for ‘moonbathing’ set in Hong Kong’s Peak district
Last year, we reported on FINGERGAP’s album ‘Shan Shan 160’, which was released via Holunjeng Records. In it, the Hong Kong footwork ambassador featured the vocal talents of Fedor Yury — a Central Asian, Hong Kong-based singer who has now released his debut solo album titled ‘from the east’.
The album comprises 13 tracks that see the rising singer’s body of work traverse ballads to dance music, complete with heartfelt lyrics and melodic twists that add to the dreamy atmosphere of the release.
In addition to the album release, Yury has also bestowed upon us a music video for the lead single ‘moonbathing’. The track itself adopts Yury’s emotional appeal that fans became enamoured with in FINGERGAP’s album, intertwined with lush synths and a tranquil melody that soothes throughout.
As for the music video set in the romantic yet mysterious atmosphere of Hong Kong’s Peak district, it tells the story of a love triangle serenaded by Yury’s powerful and emotional vocals.

‘from the east’ also showcases the singer’s musical diversity as a testament to the joys, heartbreaks and romances of Yury’s adventures as a young man, with tracks that range from dancy cuts to more introspective ones.

The album is produced by Meanjin/Brisbane-based composer, Timothy Fairless, who is known for his experimentation in music and sound installation, exploring themes of position and privilege, identity, and isolation.
