Estonian imprint Shelter unveils emotionally charged compilation 'Aveen'
With 17 tracks from 5 continents, the project weaves leftfield techno, neo-perreo, GQOM & trance, featuring B E N N & Wanton Witch

Tallinn-based collective, label, and promoter Shelter are gearing up to drop their third compilation, the evocative 'Aveen', landing on April 18.
Following on from 2023's 'Feyrûse' and this year's 'Mizgîn', Shelter's latest offering sees them curate a potent collection of 17 tracks that grapple with the often-disorienting realities of life in the mid-2020s.
Taking its name from a Kurdish word signifying "pure" or "transparent", 'Aveen' signals a quest for unvarnished artistic expression amidst a social landscape often clouded by illusion.
The compilation boasts a truly global reach, featuring cuts from 18 artists spanning 13 countries and five continents.
Representing Asia, we find the distinct sounds of Taiwan's B E N N and Malaysia's Wanton Witch.
B E N N’s ‘1+-8’ is a stark and unsettling offering marked by his signature broken rhythms, textural abrasion, and immersive atmosphere.

Across 'Aveen', listeners can expect a fluid journey through mutated strains of ambient, hypnagogic pop's hazy edges, driving trance, experimental leftfield techno, the rhythmic pulse of neo-perreo, and the raw energy of GQOM.

The compilation feels driven by a shared, visceral need for sonic catharsis. Tracks ebb and flow with percussive flurries and deep sub-bass underpinning moments of breath in the form of ethereal ambient soundscapes and intricate sound collages.
This dynamic interplay maintains momentum throughout, painting a shifting energy profile across the compilation's runtime.
