Epizode unveils a stunning island location for its debut house & techno festival in Phú Quốc

Last week we announced that Epizode, a distant cousin of KaZantip if you may, would be descending upon the sunny shores of Phú Quốc Island in Vietnam in early 2017.

We got our hands on some photos of the site and it looks like the team at Epizode has long been busy setting up structures on pristine looking swathes of beachfront land. It looks like a secluded paradise, to be sure. Pictures depict white sand beaches, plenty of palm trees, tropical seas and natural beauty. See the full gallery above.

But brace yourselves and your livers because Epizode runs from December 31st all the way through to January 14th and is a two week long event in that it will run almost non-stop for two weeks. Besides the international headliners, DJs from Moscow, Russia and around Asia will perform across three unique dance floors already.

The first phase of the line-up already includes 100 artists like Julia Govor, John 00 Fleming, Alexkid, Bushwacka, Konrad Black and Ten Walls, and a second phase is still to come. Organizers have said that there are still many negotiations ongoing and they have plenty of surprises in store as far as the line-up goes.

They can also promise you one more thing - that this is a festival for house and techno fans.

“One of the distinguishing features of Epizode is the music format,” said Artem Kharchenko, COO of Epizode. “Asia is more prone to the EDM sound, while a significant part of the Epizode line-up is primarily associated with techno music and underground culture. Our aim is to showcase the very best of this music on the Asian festival scene.”

The team executing Epizode used to work for a myriad of prolific event brands such as SPACE Moscow, GIPSY, KONSTRUKTOR as well as KaZantip Republic so away from music, the real star of the festival, the most important thing will be the atmosphere that will reign over the two weeks.

“Unusual architecture, sound and production are what will make Epizode special, but the real stars will be the DJs, artists and, of course, our guests.”

Guests can expect parallels to KaZantip as well and the team are doing everything possible to offer guests all the same things they love about KaZantip. However, they stress that Epizode is an independent project where visitors play the main role.

"An episode is a part of a piece of art that has a certain autonomy or it is a part of a movie, a story or a drama series. This winter, everyone will have a unique opportunity to play their part in the main episode of the party season. You can choose your role: to be a bystander and watch, make only a short appearance, or prove yourself as a superstar and collect all the camera flashes on the red carpet! There is absolute creative freedom when you arrive, just choose a genre! Plots, scenes, scripts, role changes, unexpected twists and exciting moments will all play out at the coolest venues accompanied by the freshest soundtracks.”

From that description we gather that Epizode is not just a music festival but also a cultural exchange and artistic gathering. The promoters have also said that there will be all sorts of production, knights, stage installations, sorting events, breath taking sunsets and sun rises and plenty more surprises.

But most importantly, let us remind you of the phở. Copious amounts of cheap and delicious phở. The beer is good too.

Tickets are on sale right now and start at $140 for the full two weeks. Single-use tickets are also available. See the website here for more information and a breakdown of what things will cost at the festival (pretty pretty cheap) as well as recommendations for accommodations.
